Hello friends,
A very BIG thank you to all of you who prayed and sent your support for the young women’s ministry. We had our very first meeting on Friday night and though Sunday is here, I have been basking in the glow of Friday night all weekend! From the beautiful young souls who showed up, to the pizza that was delivered on time; from the joy of the Lord that filled our hearts, to the Word of God that went forth; for a church leadership who showered this ministry in love and prayer, to a ministry partner who has a way of making everything beautiful and fun — God truly blessed every aspect of our meeting with a kiss! Our next meeting will be April 20th and the word “excited” seems too weak a word when it comes to expressing the emotions inside.
Having adapted Susan Hunt’s, “My True Teen” curriculum, our theme verse is: “…our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace.” (Psalms 144:12b) David, in this Psalm, is crying out to God for deliverance. He goes on, in the last two verses, to present a picture of the blessings that will come with that deliverance. One of those blessings is that the next generation will prosper and flourish. Particularly, he sees the daughters of God, having been shaped, smoothed, hewn, and cut standing in the corner as supporting pillars of both the home and the church. Both beautiful and functional, these pillars give grace and dignity to the structure. A weakened pillar means the structure is in danger, and so it is that David concludes, “Blessed are the people to whom such blessings fall! Blessed are the people whose God is the LORD! ” May God raise up a generation of women whose authority is the Word of God and whose only purpose is His glory!
Thank you all for your prayers and expressions of support! Once again, my online activity will be light as the next few weeks I will be studying for our teaching on The Perseverance of the Saints, and also thinking about our next young women’s meeting! Lord willing, I will post some of my notes and thoughts on this soul strengthening doctrine.
Love and blessings to you all! May God keep you strong!
Your sister in Christ,
Christina
