In the final chapter of Luke, Jesus appears to his disciples after being crucified. Upon seeing Jesus, the men were “startled and frightened thinking they saw a ghost.” Jesus showed them his hands and feet but Luke 24:41 confirms “they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement.” Can you even imagine the gamut of emotions they must have experienced?
I Corinthians 13:12 tells us that, “Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.”
A day is coming when we will see our Jesus face to face! What a marvelous thought! What a blessed hope! 1 John 3:2 holds a precious promise. “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.”
All I can say to that is, “What a day that will be!”
This made me very happy. Being home again will make all the junk we go through on this planet worth it. God bless you for sharing. Love you, girl friend!
Yepper! And the following verse from John shows that our future encounter with Jesus gives us every reason to live a holy life in the present! “Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself [present tense, ongoing], just as he is pure.”
