An open passage that leads to better country

To those who find themselves, according to God’s good providence, deep in the wilderness way, may you find rest in the blessing of His presence.

“Help me to see that although I am in the wilderness
it is not all briars and barrenness.
I have bread from heaven, streams from the rock,
light by day, fire by night,
thy dwelling place and thy mercy seat.
I am sometimes discouraged by the way,
but though winding and trying it is safe
and short;
Death dismays me, but my great high priest
stands in its waters,
and will open me a passage,
and beyond is better country.

Valley of Vision, Shortcomings, page 155.

“It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8

What a good prayer to pray each day….for there is hardly a day where we are not challenged by unkind words, busy schedules or some other incident that can distract us from full fellowship with our Lord. We all need to remember that His Presence sustains us no matter what happens in the day. Thank you for sharing this excellent passage. Blessings my dear friend! Good stuff!

    I love this –

Death dismays me, but my great high priest
    stands in its waters,
and will open me a passage,
    and beyond is better country

It’s such an awesome thing to be living in a time when we know the fullness of Christ’s redemptive work and have the future of eternity with Him before us. While the saints of the OT eagerly awaited the Redeemer, we know Him and look forward to his return!
