Praying for Asia Bibi

December 7, 2010 by Christina

Would you please take a moment to lift this woman, and her family, up to the throne of grace?

By now, most of you have heard about her.  She is Asia Bibi and on November 8th she was sentenced to death in Pakistan for “blasphemy” charges.  Most recently, a mullah offered $6,000 to anyone who kills her. She is receiving death threats and people are “protesting against her.”

She is a wife.  She is a mother.  She is our sister.

Will you pray for her and not leave your position until you have reached the throne on her behalf?

Will you pray like you would want someone to pray for you, or as if it were your own mother, or your wife?

“Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body.” (Hebrews 13:3)

You can read more about Asia here.

Yes I will pray for her and all others that are being attacked or killed in places where the word cannot be proclaimed. I always do and will keep on doing it.

    Christina,
Thank you for sharing about Asia! I had not heard of her, and my family and I will be lifting her up in prayer.

Amen Christina-thank you for the reminder.
What a story this would be in our liberal media if Christians were threatening to kill someone for converting to Islam! And where-I wonder are the feminists-with their outrage?

Thank you ladies for praying. I just read another story of a young pastor in Iran named Youcef who, if his appeal does not go through, is facing the death penalty.

And you are right Victoria. The persecution of Christians is so underreported. Yet, we know that all of heaven sees, and that truly, theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

May the Lord deliver her out of the hands of those who seek to destroy her life as He delivered our Lord when his earthly parents made their flight to Egypt for safety.

    Thank you for sharing this.

Amen, Diane. Let it be so.
