The Cross

August 10, 2010 by Christina

Loss of spiritual equilibrium happens to everyone.  We live in a fallen world and sin, in just no time at all, can cause us to lose our spiritual bearings.

But then there is the cross.

All it takes is one look at Calvary to regain our spiritual composure.  One look at a crucified Christ, who for the joy set before him endured the cross and despised the shame, will put everything back in its rightful place.  (Hebrews 12:2).

Go back to the cross when your heart is hard.  Go back to the cross when you are guilty and condemned.  Go back to the cross when you have failed and when you are ashamed.  Go back to the cross when you have looked inward and rightly determined that there is nothing good in you.  Go back to the cross.

The cross is the center of the universe. It is upon the cross of Christ that everything in heaven and on earth, both seen and unseen, is hinged upon.

As we pilgrims make our way to the celestial city may we remember that our path will only be as straight as our gaze is fixed upon Calvary.

“But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” (Galatians 6:14)

There is nothing more wonderful than the call of Grace to come to the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ! Blessings!

This is so true, Christina. Everything is put in its right perspective at the cross. No wonder we need to preach the gospel to ourselves every day.

Now, that’s my kind of devotional thought. Well done, sister. Well done, indeed. May the Lord continue to bless you in your service to Christ and your witness for Him as you keep at the cross and cleave to Christ, embracing His grace and seeing His face.

Thank you for these wonderful words Christina!

“At the cross, at the cross,
where I first saw the light,
    and the burden of my heart rolled away;
it was there by faith I received my sight,
and now I am happy all the day!”

    Much love to you!

En la Cruz, en la Cruz
      yo primero vi la luz
y las manchas de mi alma yo lave
fue alli or fe yo vi a Jesus
y siempre feliz con El sere

Love you and praying for you!
