Have you ever talked so much nonsense that you felt your mouth could be compared to a running faucet?
“Lord, just turn it off.” I prayed. Instead, I just kept talking – lending my own ridiculous commentary to something that was a complete non-issue. By the time I was done all I could think was, “Lord, why didn’t I just shut up?”
That’s when I remembered the lyrics to a song called “Let’s Talk About Jesus” by Terry Clark.
Let’s Talk About Jesus
Too many empty words filling my world up
So many times I’ve wondered, “Why did I speak?”
But there’s one thing worth talkin’ about
Yes, there’s one thing always worth talkin’ about
Let’s talk about Jesus
And how he saved us all
His plan, His design
Have you heard his call
Let’s talk about Jesus
What is on his mind
His dreams, His desires
What are the signs of his coming
Oh, He’s coming
So many people love the sound of their own voices
Drowning out the sound of life singing to thee
But there’s one thing worth talkin’ about
Yes, there’s one thing always worth talkin’ about
Let’s talk about Jesus
And how he saved us all
His plan, His design
Have you heard his call
Let’s talk about Jesus
What is on his mind
His dreams, His desires
What are the signs of his coming
Oh, He’s coming
Jesus, I long to see your face
Open my eyes I pray
This empty soul is thirsty for your touch
Change my heart
Change my heart
Now, I’d love to say a few more words, but in the spirit of keeping my mouth shut, I think the song says it all: Let’s talk about Jesus!
Dear lord thank you for this message this world seems upside down but this article reminded me of what is truly important, warmly Esther
